Pet insurance is a health insurance policy for your pet that pays for medical expenses and sometimes other costs. Pet insurance plans are typically reimbursement-based, meaning you pay up-front for the pet’s vet bills and submit a claim to the insurance company. When looking for insurance, you should choose a company that best fits your needs. You should consider what’s covered, the price, the deductible, exclusions, policy limits, reimbursement procedure and time, renewal rate increases, and reputation of the company (i.e. consumer reviews).
